happy birthday pittsburgh!

this morning erik and i went to phipps conservatory to catch the 'chocolate' exhibit before it ends later this month. i find it peaceful to walk around at phipps, especially in the morning when there aren't too many people there yet. erik didn't find it so peaceful today apparently, and protested much of the time. was it mean of me to drag him there even though he didn't enjoy it? maybe, but i still enjoyed going, and he didn't find it ALL bad. he enjoyed running around in one of the outdoor gardens and it was great because not a soul came out the whole time we were there. it gave me a little time to take some pictures.




he hates riding in his red stroller but LOVES pushing it around. he also really enjoyed looking at the koi at the bottom of the river in the thai rainforest.

it reminded me of this picture from this past april. he's changed a lot since then!

i found it odd that the chocolate exhibit consisted largely of plastic flamingos. these ones were taking a bath. they were even wearing little shower caps. weird.

the sky was pretty and blue when we left.
